Kat has a broad range of experience in investments and finance, beginning with the Financial Management Program at GE Commercial Finance, and continuing through investment banking, growth equity, venture capital. She is currently managing partner at Core VC, an early stage venture firm "mercenary returns through missionary investments in financial services and insurance technology."
Kat Utecht is a Managing Partner at Core Innovation Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm making mercenary returns through missionary investments in financial services and insurance technology. Previously, Kat was both an investor and the Entrepreneur in Residence in the New York office of Comcast Ventures, first investing out of the main fund and then investing in and working closely with portfolio companies of the Catalyst Fund, an affiliated seed-stage fund of Comcast Ventures. Prior to joining Comcast Ventures, Kat worked in venture capital at Core Innovation Capital (it was so good, she went back for an encore) and WVP Ventures. Prior to her venture roles, Kat invested in and led Green Rock Entertainment, an online / offline commerce startup whose main product was Cahootie. She won Ernst & Young's Winning Women Award for its success. Before her operational adventure, Kathleen was an investment banker in the financial services group of Raymond James and a graduate of General Electric Capital's Financial Management Program. Kathleen holds a bachelor's degree from Babson College and an MBA from the Wharton School. She also holds a whole host of other roles including as an advisor to SkystheLimit.org.
